CACC minutes for the February 18, 2004 meeting

Called to order by Pat Adams, Present were Larry Koffman, Chris Schanen, Joel Fleischman, Judy Holzman, Dean Uelmen, Judy Christensen, Tom Krueger, and two new members Sandy Howell, and Sandi Stahl .
Pat discussed a report by Mary Tuttle and the board decided to re-evaluate the gift certificates and add a $10.00 gift certificate when it comes time to print. Also to stress that gift certificates are for merchandise only and cannot be redeemed for cash or cash balance.
The old tourism book should not be given out as it is too outdated, and that a new book be developed for 2004.
Also a unanimous decision to have a summary annual report, rather than a line to line item. All reports are to be e-mailed to the chairpersons so that there is no overlap in the annual report presentation.
Judy Christensen to set up ribbon cutting ceremony for Campbellsport News, and for MorNorth Mortgage Corp. Members will be advised when that will occur.
Lois sent a report that on April 5, 2004 there will be a Wisconsin Restaurant Association dinner that will center on tourism. 10 Chambers are includes, and the WRA will pick up the tab for 1 chamber member. Lois felt that our Chamber should be represented at this affair. 6:00 cocktails.
Annual Meeting by-laws are being taken to Mike Haza for review before the annual meeting, where each Chamber member will receive a copy.
The voting procedures for New Election were being discussed when Chris Schanen announced that he had to resign from the Vice Presidency, and thereby opening a vacant spot on the board..
A SPECIAL ELECTION was than held. Judy Holzman was nominated unanimously for Vice President. Meaning she will hold Vice President position until vote for new board members in March and then will assume the Presidency.
Nominations for Secretary Treasurer and Vice President will have to be tallied and than the nominees called to see if they will serve before the Annual meeting.
Voting Procedures where discussed further with questions about how the chairpersons will be filled. Vice Chairpersons will be selected by the new board. Chairpersons will be promoted from their two year stint as vice chair.
Joel Fleischman Information & Tourism reported that the plans for the 4th of July celebration were coming along nicely and could be viewed on the web-site. The Beard-A-Thon will start April 1st and end at the judging in July. The Campbellsport News will feature a Chamber Corner and is offering free news and photos as well. The tourism brochure will soon begin to happen; now those The 4th of July plans are in the works. The chamber phone no longer has an 866 number because of low usage. However, the 920-979-0080 is still ringing strong.
Jackie Lindsley Promotion & Events reported that the Village Wide Rummage Sale would be June 11th and 12th. With June 18 being the bulk pick-up date.
Judy Holzman reported that she will start working on a Spring Newsletter, and would like some news from the various Committee Chairpersons.
Dean Uelmen Development Committee brought a proposal from Guy Rice Signs-The board voted to have one sign ordered and installed on the Timbers property at a cost of $3610.00. This will be presented to the Annual meeting. It was voted to have the sign read Welcome to Campbellsport, rather than Village of Campbellsport.
