The Campbellsport Area Chamber of Commerce met at The Amber for our breakfast directors meeting on February 9th. Dale and Lois expressed their farewells and continued support for the Chamber; they also provided us with a wonderful breakfast. Both have been in business in Campbellsport for 25 years and will continue to be members in the Chamber.

Present were Brenda Hicks-Sorensen, Judy Christensen, Lynn Serwe, Dean Uelman, Chris Schanen, Jackie Lindsley, Joel Fleischman, Julie Roth, Tom Krueger, Jackie Rindt, Judy Holzman, Larry Koffman, Andrea Hansen-Abler, Lois and Dale Z. and Scott Remmel.

Committee Reports are as follows

Information & Tourism – Andrea/Tom

There will be a Ribbon Cutting at Recycled Treasures on 12:15 on Friday February 11th. Andrea will e-mail to all directors when these events have a specific time and date.

Tom discussed possible distribution of new Village booklets through a company called "Travel Helper Marketing." Joel suggested that the tourism be distributed at the same time.

Will continue to keep this an option.

 

Business Development – Joel/Larry

Joel reported on the BDA meeting on 2/3/05. It was decided to make a line item for the development fund in the budget as of today starting with $13,000.00

Motion made by Judy Holzman and second by Larry Koffman to approve the continued development program for 12-16 months. I.e. being a symbolic $500.00 to open a business and then another $500 after one year. Brenda Hicks-Sorensen said she would help interested business’s find available funding. Also 4 local papers would run business opportunities ads.

Promotions & Events – Jackie

Easter Egg Hunt March 26th. All set and the bunny is ready to go.

A questionnaire will be prepared for the Annual Meeting that can be filled out that night by interested Chamber members.

Treasurer’s Report

$15,686.03 in checkbook and $8,757.82 in Money Market Development Fund.

New Business

The replies are coming in from the Chamber members about 25 so far to date.

Agnesian still negotiating on new clinic land purchase.

The Chamber Members got to meet the new owners of The Amber.

His name is Scott Remmel, and the new name is Campbellsport Inn. Scott’s mother will be living above the Inn, while Scott and his family live 20 minutes away in Newburg. Hours will be 11:00 through closing. MWT till 9:00 Friday and Sat. until 10:00 and Sunday till 8:00
