Committee Reports;
Information and Tourism: Andrea informed us that there will be a ribbon
cutting at the Health Hut on Friday February 10th at noon. All chamber members
are invited to attend.Future ribbon cuttings will include: Lentz
Construction,Theisen Trails,Campbellsport Medical Center and Hometown Bank.
Development:
Joel informed us that it is a slow time right now. Not much happening on the
web site. He is working on a new idea to promote Campbellsport. We were asked
to write down things and events that occur in town. He would like to combine
them and make a list of 50 things that may attract customers and future
residents. Please e-mail your ideas to Joel.He is working on sponsorship for
July 4th projects and the Rock,Scissor, Paper competition. In order to get
world recognition we would need a sponsor who would donate $1,000 for the
project.Two other entertainers have been secured for the picnic.
Promotions and Events:
Chris Adams will be the new Easter Bunny.Jackie has also hired a new act for
the Halloween Caper for the Children's tent.There will be 2 performances. The
Chamber was asked if they would like to participate with the Campbellsport
Fire Dept. in donating money to go towards smoke alarms and batteries. It was
suggested that this be on the agenda for the upcoming annual dinner
meeting.The Christmas Walk has the go ahead from Dan Olson at the High School.
Julie told us everything looks good at this point and committees will be
taking over the problems that need to be worked out. If anyone would like to
be a part of this committee please contact Julie or any board member.
Treasurer's Report
Memberships are coming in slowly which isn't unusual. Most of the expenses at
this point are for the picnic. Chamber Bucks were discussed and Julie informed
us that she will write checks out once a month. This is easier than writing
out so many checks. The finacial statement is good.It was decided that Free
memberships would be given to The Village of Campbellsport,The Campbellsport
School District and the Campbellsport Fire Dept.These are all non-profit
organizations and we rely on them for their help through the year.
Administrative Assisstant Report;
Lois informed us that aproximately 122 invitations were sent out for the
annual meeting.There were 2 phone calls and there were no welcome baskets
delivered.Also business cards are being printed which will enable Chamber
members to use them as a means of comunication and advertising.
Old Business;
Planters were dicussed and money has been set aside for this project.We will
need a committee roster and ballots for the upcoming meeting.
New Business:
New signs were discussed for the Hwy V corridor. It would benefit
Campbellsport if we had signs north and south of the village.These signs are
costly and it was reccomended that money be budgeted for these projects.The
Cab project will continue in the village. Rails to Trails will be coming our
way this year. Everyone was excited that this venture will run through our
village. It will be a great opportunity for the village to showcase itself to
the people who utilize the trail.There are new businesses interested in the
Campbellsport area and Brenda is working with these individuals to try and
make this happen.
The next meetig will be March 8th, with the location to be announced through
e-mail.
Meeting adjourned 8 a.m.
