Minutes for meeting held July 14, 2006
 
The meeting was held at Loehr's and there were 12 members in attendance.
 
Andrea had no ribbon cuttings. We were to reschedule a ribbon cutting but the member decided against it. The new Campbellsport Sign is being worked on. The Farmers Market is doing well. All future ribbon cuttings will be held after a regular monthly meeting.
 
Joel reported on some properties on Main St. and the possibility of a new business in the near future.
 
There was no report in Promotions.
 
Treasurer's Report. There were no new memberships. H&R Block paid their membership fee. It is a slow month. Most of the reporting will be in August due to the July picnic. A new checking account has been opened for the Chamber Bucks. All were in agreement that this will be a better way to handle this program
 
We had a good turn out for the Fond du Lac Symphony Band.
 
Lois reported that there were 6 new residents and that notices for welcome baskets are under way. There have been many emails and phone calls. We do not have a phone as of yet. Chris Schanen will be taking care of this.
 
Joel reported on the picnic. There will not be any carnival acts next year. Very pricey. The truck pull will be reformatted as well.This will be more of a community event.The Rock, Paper, Scissors Contest did extremely well and generated a lot of free publicity.The funds for the truck pull were split with the Fire Dept. These funds are to be used for the renovation of the public restrooms.
 
For new business the suggestion was made to have a free gas day in Campbellsport. There was a lot of discussion and it was decided to have some research done and see of this project was feasible.`
 
The next social will be in August with the Campbellsport Medical Center as the host.We will not have a monthly meeting in August as the social will take its place.
 
There was a discussion on membership dues. If a new member joins half way through the year the free membership only extends to the end of that year. It does not carry over.
 
Judy reported that the new planters are on back order . She is also working on a News Letter for the Chamber.
 
Dean stated that there is a free CD at the Village Hall on business recruitment. There also will be a public hearing on August 15 in regards to the new building project in the village.The time is tentative at 6p.m. This will be confirmed in the paper.
 
An update on the land in the village. Aurora has purchase the land next to the Piggly Wiggly. There is no other information at this time.
 
The Campbellsport Fire Dept will hold a silent parade on 9/11 for the anniversary of the trade center. All are asked to attend.
 
The next meeting will be the August Social and that date will be confirmed in the paper and on the web site.
