Minutes for Meeting held March 8, 2006
There were 6 members attending the meeting.
Tom opened the meeting by introducing our new vice-president, Scott Remmel
from the Campbellsport Inn.
Julie presented a rrequest from a reading club asking for funds. Because it is
a sizeable amount and we are not an organization designated to help individual
clubs it was recommended that this club solicit other service organizations in
the village.
Promotion and Events. We need a chair person. Jackie will stay on but is
looking for are replacement or help with this committee. It was suggested that
we contact the people on the promotional list and make it known that we need
their help and involvement.
It was decided that posted minutes will not be on the web page. Tom will get
back to Lois on how this change will take place.
It was decided that committee meetings should take place outside of the
monthly meeting. At the monthly meeting the committee chairs should report on
what their committee has been doing and what they suggest in the future. This
will eliminate all of the excess discussion at the monthly meetings.
It was advised that a second notice be sent out for memberships. After that if
no contact, than a phone call is in order.
Julie reported that the Chamber is in good financial order.
A discussion was held on putting up 3 new signs upon entering the village
limits. Dean said these signs will be costly and that the time to put in the
extra utilities for the sign on the south side should be considered. It would
be less costly to do it now than when everything else is done on the pump
house that has been recently erected. It was mentioned that maybe the Lions
organization may be able to help out financially.
The Rails to Trails should be finished this summer. Parking and information
centers are still not in place. The county is responsible for the maintenance.
The Village is not responsible for the liability. Dean will be getting more
information.
Lois reported that she delivered 4 welcome baskets and that the recipients
were very pleased. She is also getting more items for the baskets and she is
trying to get to each business and ask if there is anything the Chamber can
help them with.
The next meeting was discussed but no arrangements have been decided.
