Minutes for meeting held May 11, 2006
Attendance: Joel, Julie,Jackie,Tom,Scott,Andrea,Liv,Casey, Ike, Chris, Dave,
Judy, Dale, Lois.
Andrea: The new sign will be going up on the corner of Division Rd. It will
cost $75.00 a year. The old sign will be taken down as it is in bad shape.The
Farmers Market will be run as a first come first serve basis. True Value will
handle the sign up sheets. Any questions should be directed to Andrea or
Chris at True Value.The new trail is open and people are enjoying it. The
trail will be marked soon and benches and kiosks were addressed. More will be
reported on this as information comes in.
Ike and Casey: No new business to discuss. Joel talked about the Cab Program.
There are properties available for new business and Brenda is working with
several businesses as to whether Campbellsport would be a location they would
consider.
Jackie: 400 bags of Easter candy were made up. We had approximately 330 kids.
Everything went well. Halloween Caper is coming along. Entertainment has been
hired and a contract signed.
Julie: Memberships are still coming in. Chamber bucks as well. Everything
looks good financially.
Joel: Sponsorship for the Truck Pull is going strong. The Chamber will
purchase a race clock with the High School to use for the truck pull. The
Lion's Club will sponsor the pony rides at the picnic. Rock,Paper,Scissors
sign up at King Pin Lanes. Truck Pull sign up at Culley's and on line.The
budget was discussed for the Picnic. All seems to be going well. Joel asked
for an increase in the advertising budget for the picnic.
Dave Twohig offered to approach the Fond du Lace Visitors Bureau for
additional funds.The signs and banners will be coming out for the picnic
activities.If anyone would have photos of last year's parade please get them
to Andrea at the Campbellsport News as she lost hers when her computer
crashed.
Lois: We are having problems with the cell phone. Chris said it was old and
recommended that we check into a new one. Joel said we may get a free phone if
we sign up for a new plan.4 welcome baskets were delivered with 1 more to go.
80 invitations were sent out for the May Social. 65 letters were delivered to
local business people concerning the Police issue in town. The meeting for
this discussion will be May 22, at 7p.m. at the Library.Attendance is very
important in order to hear your opinion and concerns.
Tom: The meeting schedule was discussed. At the next annul meeting the by-laws
will be ammended. A budget must be submitted by each committee chair for the
fiscal year.Any additional monies needed will have to be board approved.It was
also discussed that anyone can attend the monthly meetings but if a vote is in
order only board members can participate.
Dave Twohig told us that the Pioneer Princess has been purchased and will be
docked at the Mercury Marine Boat House on the Hwy 45 site. The boat can serve
dinner up to 65. He also informed us the they have been successful in opening
several locks in order for boat traffic to move freely.
We have 3 rounds of gold to Hon-e-kor and will be raffled off at the May
social.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday June 14, at Fussy Feebies at 7a.m.
It was brought to our attention that the trail connecting Long Lake and Mauthe
Lake should be finished this summer.
Judy told us the planters are ready to go. She did not purchase any new ones
at this time.
Ribbon cuttings will be held in the future. Please check the web site and your
