Campbellsport Area Chamber of Commerce Directors Meeting

Wednesday May 12, 2004

Present were Tom Krueger, Larry Kaufman, Julie Roth Mary Tuttle, Jackie Lindsley, Judy Johnson, Judy Christensen, and Ann Schlaefer.

The previous minutes were approved.

Committee Reports on Information & Tourism. Larry/Tom

Larry reported that Chris Schanen would be working with Kewaskum on a tourism map. Larry and Tom will be working on an informational booklet with articles and advertising for the Campbellsport Area. The maps will be inside the booklet and both given out at the same time when completed.

More-North will have ribbon cutting at the Customer Appreciation Day at Columbus Parc.

Judy Christensen to see if Chuck Lichensteiger would like a ribbon cutting for his new location of business.

Development – Joel/Andrea

The business development is working on finding the owner of the Fond du Lac garage. Still working on fitness center in town. The brillion tour is forthcoming, and the village sign will be erected by July 4th. The total cost will be from $6000 to $7000.

The Parade and Picnic report was that the Beard-a-thon showed a profit of $282.25, and that the July 4th parade fund check for $550 was submitted. Mike Knuppel contacted, applied for Huey helicopter fly over.

The website will soon list current membership of CACC.

There has been a large spike in visitors with Easter egg hunt online.

Promotion & Events – Jackie/Raelene

The Easter Egg hunt was a great success, Customer Appreciation Day is May 16th with 20 or more business signed on to have booths and provide food. Rick Heisler and his wife will be honored for all their work on the Columbus Parc.

The village wide rummage sale will be advertised and handled by the Campbellsport News.

The treasurer’s Report – Julie Roth

The ending balance is $16,436.70.

The Money Market (Development Fund) is $8,737.84.

Membership Report – Julie Roth

Some previous members have not re-joined and some members whose complimentary membership has run out will be contacted for the third and final time.

Welcome Baskets – Judy Christensen

5 Welcome baskets were given out in May.

Old Business

Progress on Sign

New Business – Ann Schlaefer asked for Chamber sponsorship to have the Fond du Lac Symphony Band play at the Park on Tuesday July 22, at 7:30 p.m. They will play for about 1-½ hours Set up and Clean up by the Chamber. Ann will look for a non-profit group to provide food and refreshments. The band will cost $300.00 Motion and second by Roth/Kaufmann. All were in favor.

 

Meeting ended at 1:00 and the next meeting will be June 9th at a location yet to be determined.
