Minutes for meeting held November 8th at the Fin and Feather Supper Club.
There were 14 members in attendance.
Information and Tourism: Andrea reported that the new sign is finished. Liv
did a very nice job with it. The cost of the sign to display at the end of
Division Road will be $75 a year. No ribbon cutting are planned at this time.
The Kettle Moraine Booklets will be a future project. Andrea is teaming up
with the Kewaskum Chamber and is asking for our help as well.
Business and Development;
The Cab Program has another application.
It was reported that a new business has arrived in Campbellsport. It is called
Creative Image and Sound. It is located in the building that Att. Gus Christ
had his offices in. Also Reflections will be moving to the Candee building. The
Ironsides property has been sold to Mike Wisnefske. The building is being
repaired and remodeled and hopefully will be open by January. He will be
employing approximately 10-15 people.
The newspaper ads for both the Campbellsport News and the Action Advertiser
are in the final stages of development. The ad in the Campbellsport News will
be called Chamber Chatter. This should be starting in January. With this the
business would pay part of the ad and the Chamber would pay the rest. With the
Action Ad the premise would be the same with the business and Chamber both
paying for part of the ad. For more information call the News office, Joel
Fleishman, or Kim Bilgo.
Promotions and Events: The Caper was down this year mainly due to the
weather. There has already been much discussion as to changing some things for
next year. The committee will meet on this and give a full wrap-up report at a
later date.
The Christmas Walk has almost everything in place. Joel would like to get as
much information on the Web site as soon as possible. If anyone would like to
volunteer for this event please call Julie Roth, Lynn Serwe, or Lois Zingsheim.
Also there will be an itinerary with a map and all of the Chamber members
names on it that will be given out at the Walk. We also will be selling
Chamber Bucks at a discounted price the day of the event. Flyer's will be in
the paper the week of Thanksgiving.
Treasurer's Report; All is well Julie reported. She asked how the funds for
the Caper will be split and if some of the earmarked funds should be changed.
We have several new members joining our Chamber. Most of them will be coming
into the group in January.
Lois's Report; There is lots of action with emails and by phone. Welcome
Baskets are still going out regularly.
Old and New Business; Scott reported that the Kiosk will be a new project. He
is looking for this to be a spring project. He also mentioned that the trail
is being used for other activities as well as biking and walking. This project
definitely is an asset to our community.
Judy will need help removing the decorations and plants from the planters. If
anyone would like to volunteer please contact Judy Holzman.
Scott reported that the Campbellsport Inn will be open for lunch on Wednesday
and Thursday during the month of December. For all of their hours please
contact Scott at the Campbellsport Inn or check out their web site.
Judy asked if we had any economic numbers from The Extreme Makeover. Brenda
stated that they do not but there may be a way to track some of it. It may be
impossible to track all of it because there were so many different businesses
and donations involved. It was agreed that the Makeover definitely impacted
the community in many shapes and forms, especially tourism.
The next meeting will be announced.
Meeting was adjourned to join the social that was being held that evening.
