Campbellsport Area Chamber of Commerce Directors Meeting

Wednesday Nov. 10, 2004

Ben Franklin/True Value 7:00 a.m.

Present: Judy Holzman, Joel Fleischman, Jackie Lindsley, Julie Roth, Dean Uelmen, Chris Schanen, Patti Schickert, Lori Galligan, Gwen Kober, Lois Zingsheim and Liv Moyer

Meeting was called to order by Pres. Judy Holzman. Minutes were approved

Judy welcomed Liv Moyer, owner of "Set in Ink, LLC" to the Chamber.

Committee Reports:

Information and Tourism:

Chris reported that he, Andrea and Tom are working on the Campbellsport brochures. This will include all area Chamber members and they hope to have these printed by spring of 2005.

Ribbon cuttings: "Set-in Ink" took place on Nov. 15, 2004. They will receive a free chamber membership for 2004

Development:

Joel reported the Lumber Jack demonstration at the Firemen’s picnic has been put on hold for 2005.

Lori Galligan asked the chamber is we could think of something for the younger adults (under 21) at the picnic. Karaoke was suggested and we will look into that.

Promotions/Events:

Jackie Lindsley was complimented on a good job done at the 2004 Halloween Caper. After a lengthy discussion re: what the $5.00 per person should cover at the Caper, there was a motion by Jackie Lindsley that in 2005 the $5.00 per charge will cover the hayride, haunted gym and moonwalk. All other events (excluding the concessions) will be free to the public compliments of Chamber members. Motion was 2nd by Judy Holzman-motion carried.

The proceeds from the 2004 will be split between the Chamber and the FFA; we will use the gross income from the ticket sales, less all expenses. For 2005, the proceeds from ticket sales will be split between the Chamber and the FFA. They FFA will be responsible for any expenses to the haunted gym. Any proceeds from the concessions sales will go the CACC.

Gwen Kober has volunteered to take care of the carved pumpkins for 2005.

Chris Schanen reported that the "balloon launch" was successful-they have balloons reported as far as Michigan.

The Chamber "Christmas Light Contest" will be again be chaired by Dean Uelmen. Judging will be held on Tuesday Dec. 7th at 5:00. Johnson Bus will provide the transportation. There will be new "categories" in this years contest

Treasurer’s report: Julie reported that balance in the checkbook is $18,671.61, Picnic funds are $3,410.98 and the money market is $8,751.45. We had 1 new non-profit member, the Campbellsport Theater.

Old Business: Judy Holzman purchased planters for Main Street beautification for 2005. The FFA will donate the flowers and will be responsible for maintenance.

The next meeting will be held on Dec. 8th at 7:00. Site to be decided.
