What to expect at Truck Pull IVTruck Pull
IV, the world’s largest human truck pull event, is set for
July 4th in Campbellsport, WI. Truck Pull IV
consists of teams of 5 men or 8 women pulling nearly 40,000
lbs. It takes place at the Campbellsport Fire Department’s
park after the parade. The task is quite simple. Pull a truck
loaded with lumber the furthest and win $750. Why is the
annual truck pull one of the most popular events in our area?
First, the Truck Pull never lies. It’s not who is
strongest, it’s who wants it more. Some contestants do it for
the crowd. Some do it for themselves. Some do it for the
T-shirt. Some teams compete for the "Set in Ink" spirit stick
while others compete for the "world" record.
With thousands of people in Campbellsport for the annual
parade it is a true community event that involves people from
all over the Midwest. Being a short event (it only takes about
four hours), it is intense. Bring your voice and prepared to
get involved. The crowd is just as much a part of the Truck
Pull as the contestants. If you want a bleacher seat get there
early. Contestants vary in age, size, and skill. The "Skinny
Klub" entered in 2003 and featured Dwayne "Dwaynie, Dwaynie"
Hart weighing in at approximately 131lbs. Some teams average
estimated weight is almost double that.
Join the volunteer fire department as they celebrate over
100 years of service to the community. Food, free pony rides,
games for the kids, a dj at the truck pull, and music at the
main stage are all part of the festivities. The "Hard Core"
Sponsors (Smith & Hatch Insurance, Hometown Bank, Dean W.
Uelman DDS, Campbellsport Building Supply, Michels
Corporation, and Koffman Auto Body), The Campbellsport
volunteer Fire Department, and the Campbellsport Area Chamber
of Commerce hope to see you there.
