Minuets for meeting held September 13, 2006 at The Essence House in Campbellsport. Agenda:

Business and Development

Joel presented a check to Kim Bilgo from the Cab program. Another application has been accepted. Old Ironsides may be sold in the very near future. We have not received any final information on this subject. There will be a meeting next Thursday September 21, at 7 a.m. in the Campbellsport Library.

Information and Tourism;

Andrea contacted the Kewaskum Chamber in regard to the map. There will be more information on this in the future. The ribbon cutting for The Essence House will take place today after the morning meeting. The sign for the Chamber is not ready. Liv will be getting back to us in the future. She will be getting the flyers and posters out for the Halloween Caper and they will be distributed throughout the area.

Promotion and Events;

Jackie reported that Fox and Branch have been contacted to do 2 shows at the Caper. They are confirmed. Chris has taken over the other responsibilities and she is assuming that all events will be taken care of by the people appointed. The face painting will be provided this year by the art club. There will be a $1 charge for this event.

Treasurer’s Report;

Nothing new. Everything looks good.

CACC Report;

Lois informed the meeting that 16 invitations have been sent out to new residents to receive their Welcome Baskets. She is also working on replenishing the materials that are needed for the Baskets.

Scott addressed the meeting asking if we can get the area Chambers involved with our Chamber. This would enable us to exchange materials and ideas in order to bring new business into everyone’s area. Scott will be taking on this challenge and will be getting more information for us for our next meetings.

Tom informed us that we may have problems with a company we use to put out our pamphlets throughout the area. We need to look into another company due to rising costs.

An email was received for On-line services asking if we would consider using them. No other discussion followed.

Judy has done a fabulous job with the planters and she will be taking out some of the plants and replacing them with mums and other decorative items. Anyone who would like to help her with this project should contact her and she will put you to work.

We held the raffle drawing; Jackie Lindsley, Ron Gussick, and Lori Galligan were the winners of a $20 Chamber Buck Gift Certificate.

At the Annual meeting which will be held at The Cambellsport Inn, the floor will be open for anyone who would like to host a social. We will plan the location of all of the 2007 socials at this event.

New Business;

Joel presented an idea for the Rock, Paper, and Scissors Contest. We would send out a brochure to all of the State Chambers asking them to send a representative to the Campbellsport tournament. This not only would promote the event but also get Campbellsport’s name out there.

The Truck Pull proceeds have been designated for new playground equipment.

Dean said there may be a planning committee to help the Firemen and the village coordinate the restoration of the rest rooms in the park. He also told us the Park is in danger of loosing many of its trees due to disease and storms. This will have to be discussed in the future to ensure that trees remain in the park.

Scott discussed the fact that The Chamber needs to do more to help out its members. We need plans that will help our members in the long term. Questions that were asked included: What can The Chamber do to revive business in our area, can we bring in some unique stores to browse in, can there be a sidewalk day for business people to get involved in, the trail needs parking and kiosks to provide information and shelter, and there were other ideas mentioned. Mostly we need to brainstorm and get the ideas down so that a discussion can take place. At that point the determination can be made if the idea is feasible. It was mentioned that we are doing a good job supporting the village residents but we are falling behind in helping the members themselves. The Plymouth Jazz festival was brought up as an example. It was mentioned that many people attended this event and that is what is needed. We have to get people into the village in order to get them to see what we have to offer.

Kim Bilgo was asked what her expectations were for her new business on Main

Street. She was pleased that the speed limit was 25mph, and she was pleased to hear that the CAB program will allow her to apply for a sign for her business. She then discussed ways to try and give members a break on advertising in our local paper. Andrea said she would look into this matter. Many comments were talked about, mostly on how we get the Chamber members names out there when we have a function. People should know who is sponsoring the event. A permanent sign was discussed with the names of the members whom have been involved in an event listed on it. The contributors could be changed with the event that took place as not all members would be involved in the same events.

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, October 11, at King Pin Lanes at noon.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05
